Installation:
Unpack and remove any packing material found in the lower housing. Install in piping with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. The switch must be installed vertically on horizontal pipe runs. To ensure a steady working flow, make certain to keep the paddle flow switch a safe distance from sources of turbulence such as elbows, valves, pumps, etc. The recommended minimum distance upstream and downstream of the flow switch is about 5 times the pipe’s diameter.
Maintenance:
Inspect and clean wetted parts at regular intervals. The cover should be in place at all times to protect the internal components from dirt, dust, and weather. Disconnect the device from the supply circuit before opening to prevent ignition of hazardous atmosphere.
The Model FS-2 Paddle Flow Switch is not field serviceable and should be returned if repair is needed (field repair should not be attempted and may void warranty). Be sure to include a brief description of the problem plus any relevant application notes. Contact customer service to receive a return goods authorization number before shipping.

The power input and switched outputs are individually fused at 0.5A and are reverse polarity protected. A shielded 4 conductor cable provides the electrical connection to the TDFS. The cable drain wire must be connected to earth ground in CE applications or when strong RF fields are present.
Setpoint Adjustment:
The setpoint may be adjusted with the supplied magnet. There are two setpoint targets on the unit located under the LED status indicator on opposite sides of the unit . Either setpoint target may be used, and either end of the magnet may be used. If the setpoint does not set easily, try reversing the magnet.
Maintenance:
Upon final installation of the Series TDFS, no routine maintenance is required. The Series TDFS is not field serviceable and should be returned if repair is needed. Field repair should not be attempted and may void warranty.

The SERIES MFS Magnetic Inductive Flow Sensor is a compact, low cost alternative to paddle wheel sensors. Unlike sensors with moving parts, the MFS can be applied in applications dealing with contaminated media. This series provides a reliable measuring technique, an obstruction free pipe cross-section, as well as a quick response time, making this series ideal for interference free operation. Any change in temperature, density, viscosity, concentration or electrical conductivity of the liquid, does not affect the output signal of this Magnetic Inductive Flow Sensor. This, in addition to its long-life cycle, makes this series perfect for accurate reversible gauging of volume flow of conductive liquids in closed piping.
Principles of Operation:
The measuring pipe is in a magnetic field. If an electrically conductive medium with a certain flow passes through the pipe, it passes at a right-angle to the magnetic field, creating a voltage which is proportional to the average flow velocity and picked up by two electrodes within the MFS. A frequency output signal is obtained that is proportional to the flow (analog output option available).

The SERIES EFS2 Insertion Electromagnetic Flow Sensor is designed for pipe sizes from 1 to 12" and comes in three different materials (stainless steel, brass and PVC). There are a variety of custom fittings to choose from to ensure accurate fitting in the pipe. The Series EFS2 is useful for any applications where moving parts would be a problem, such as dirty liquids. It can handle applications where there are rapid changes in viscosity and flow. Other applications include small pipes and chemical metering pumps.
Principle Of Operation:
The EFS2 is a liquid flow meter that uses the conductivity of fluids to measure flow rate. Liquid flow through its magnetic field produces a voltage that is measured and translated into an output signal. It has a pulse frequency output which can be used with the Series RTI to indicate flow rate and total, as well as the Series BAT signal converter which provides an analog signal.

The orifice metering primary shall be suitable for installation between standard ANSI 125/150# flanges (any material) mounted on standard pipe (any material). The unit shall be "self centering" within the bolt circle of the flanges. No alignment of the orifice shall be necessary unless used with 300# or non-standard flange ratings. Drilling and or tapping of the main or flanges will not be allowed or required. The overall laying length shall be 1.25 ?? including pre-attached ring type 1/8 ?? thick Buna "N" Gaskets.

The flow tube should be installed with minimum 8 diameters of pipe run ahead and 5 diameters of pipe run after. This will ensure steady flow and accurate readings.
Installation:
The meter can be installed in a vertical or horizontal position. The Magnehelic ® gage must be positioned such that it is read in a horizontal orientation. The meter comes in a horizontal left to right configuration. If a vertical orientation is required remove the three mounting screws (1) from the back of the Magnehelic ® gage, reposition the gage within the bracket and re-tighten the screws.
The Magnehelic ® gage can be mounted remotely from the meter. If this is done make sure to keep the Magnehelic ® gage above the Venturi Flow Tube assembly. Condensation may collect in the tube if it is below the gage and cause false readings
The Venturi Flow Tube must be connected in the correct orientation. For example, in a left to right flow, the high pressure side which is on the left connects to the high pressure port on the Magnehelic ® gage. The low pressure side is on the right and connects to the low pressure port of the Magnehelic ® gage.

Installation:
Carefully unpack switch and remove any packing material from lower housing. Trim the vane at the appropriate mark for the size of pipe being used.
Caution: Mechanical shock or vibration can cause permanent damage to the reed switch. Take care to avoid dropping the unit on hard surfaces or impacting the switch assembly.
Apply pipe thread sealant tape or pipe thread sealant to the 1/2 ?? male NPT mounting threads and install switch in the system piping with the arrow on side pointing in the direction of flow.
Connect wiring in accordance with local electrical codes.
Inductive, capacitive and lamp loads can all create conditions harmful to the reed switch.
In addition to these causes, exceeding any of the maximum electrical ratings can lead to premature or immediate failure. This includes inrush and surge currents greater than the maximum switching current. Use caution when evaluating system loads and current. To accommodate these conditions, see diagrams on the reverse which depict possible solutions.
After installation, set the switch action to NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed). Normally closed contacts open and normally open contacts close when increasing flow actuates the reed switch. To change, loosen, but do not remove, the two screws on the top cap. Slide the reed switch assembly to expose the switch action selected. Tighten screws when adjustment is complete.

All NPT threads should be installed using a suitable thread sealant (Teflon tape or Prermatex. 'No more Leaks.). Sealant must be kept out of unit during installation. Ten diameters of straight run piping are recommended upstream and downstream of the flow sensor. The P8 end fitting Is threaded to the body at assembly and torqued to 25 Ft. Lbs. If disassembly from a system is required, It is advisable to hold the end fitting hex with a wrench to prevent sensor disassembly. If the sensor should become disassembled as a result of uninstalling, re-torque the end fitting to 25 Ft. Lbs.
Maintenance/Repair :

Installation Instructions:
With both upstream and downstream shut-off valves installed. To test the installation for leaks: Close the outlet (downstream) shut-off valve. Open the inlet (upstream) shut-off slowly until meter is full of water. Open the outlet (downstream) valve slowly until air is out of the meter and service line. Open a faucet slowly to allow entrapped air to escape. Close the faucet.
